Director’s Ramblings July 2013
The riding season is in full gear. Weather has been extremely weird with tons of rain and then the heat. It’s been frustrating to say the least, but there were still some good days to get out on the road. We have a ton of rides and events posted to the calendar. Check it out and participate.
I thought it was important to take some time to talk about our Website, IVHOG.org. It is a great website and I want to thank Roger Joseph for all of the work he put into it. This is for IVHOG members and civilians who may be interested in what IVHOG is all about. For the first time EVER, we have 95% of our members that have and do access the site.
I hope you will take the time to access the site and learn how to navigate around it – it is so important. That is because there is just so much “stuff” out there that helps you understand what IV HOG is about. Fore example, the site talks about upcoming events and provides MapQuest directions for each ride. And Roger has created it in a way that makes your web experience a superior one.
Let’s face it: the Internet is where the “world” is moving to; we have to be there too. So, do yourself a favor, use the site. You won’t be sorry. Pay particular attention to all of the ride information for our club and the Inter Club events. Get out and enjoy.
At this time I also want to thank the membership regarding the candid feedback on how we deliver the newsletter. The idea of publishing it monthly during riding season and then bi-monthly afterwards makes total sense. Mike and I will fine tune the process and insure we keep you up to speed the entire way.
Change is good and can sometimes same the club money. We eliminated the safe deposit box saving over $200 annually. We eliminated the Hot line saving us over $300 annually and we continue to look at anything that costs money and makes no sense.
In ending, visit Deans for all of your needs. As Randy indicated at the last membership meeting, he has some 2013 bikes left and expects no other 2013 deliveries. Maybe it is time for you to upgrade your bike. The technology is awesome and you will not be sorry.
