IVHOG Chapter Meeting Notes – Aug-2026

Fundraising and Community Activities

The chapter reported on several recent fundraising events:

• Inner Club Picnic: The raffle table raised $2,565. Proceeds will be divided between the Breaker Down Fund and the chapter’s Toy Run later in the year.
• Gold Star Mothers Event: Raised $7,000 for the organization, substantially more than in previous years.
•  Baca Toy Run:** Raised $3,200 for needy children.

Members were thanked for volunteering, donating, and participating in these events.

3. Upcoming Rides and Events

The following events were announced or discussed.

• August 15: Multiple events are scheduled:
  • Combat Vets Car and Bike Show in Phoenixville, 10:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.
  • Veterans Benefit at the Perkasie Owls, 12:00–6:00 p.m. Freedom Valley is a sponsor. A helicopter and bike show were also mentioned.
  • Reading Phillies outing, with riders meeting at Classic Harley before traveling to the game. Tickets were described as limited and likely to sell out.
• August 29: Blue Comets Bike Show, replacing their Lansdale Bike Night. The event runs 11:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
• Baca Bucks Bike Night: Held the last Friday of each month at Mike’s York Road Tavern in Warminster, 6:00–10:00 p.m.
• Messengers MC Bike Night: Scheduled for August 3, September 7, and October 5 at Angie’s Cafe in Warminster, beginning at 6:00 p.m.
• September 12: Centurions MC Bucks County Harleys and Hot Rod Show at the American Legion in Hatfield, 1:00–5:00 p.m. Entry was stated as $20 for cars and $10 for motorcycles. A portion of proceeds will benefit Shriners Hospital for Children and Autism Cares Foundation. –
• November 14: A Toy Run was announced that will begin in Fagleysville, travel to Grandview Pediatrics, and end at Freedom Valley.

Members were encouraged to choose among the August 15 events based on their availability rather than attempt to attend all three.

4. Charitable Organizations

Diane presented two organizations for consideration as potential recipients of a chapter donation:

1. Living Beyond Breast Cancer
2. Unite for HER

Both organizations were described as providing support and services to people affected by breast cancer and related cancers. Unite for HER was specifically described as offering complementary services, including massage, Reiki, and acupuncture.

Members were also invited to recommend additional charitable organizations for consideration.

5. Safety Discussion

Rider safety was a major topic of discussion.

Members emphasized:

• The importance of complying with Pennsylvania’s cellphone-use law.
• Avoiding the use or adjustment of phones and motorcycle devices while riding.
• Remaining especially alert during the summer riding season.
• Watching carefully at intersections and not assuming an intersection is safe simply because another rider has proceeded through.
• Maintaining awareness around tractor-trailers and other large vehicles.
• Keeping the group together while riding on the highway and avoiding large gaps between riders.
• Recognizing that ride leaders have significantly greater responsibilities when managing lane changes, traffic, and the entire group.
• 
  The overall message was to remain alert, maintain safe spacing, and prioritize everyone’s safety during group rides.

6. Membership

The chapter reported 107 fully active members.

Several members introduced themselves, including:

• A new member from Hatfield who has been riding for approximately 20 years and owns a 1992 Electra Glide Classic that previously belonged to his father.
• A member from the Quakertown area with a 2021 Tri-Glide Ultra Classic.
• Cody, who was welcomed back to the chapter after a period away.

The chapter noted that membership applications are available for download through the club website.

7. Treasurer’s Report

The following financial figures were reported:

A significant portion of the reported income was attributed to shirt sales, while expenses included the purchase of shirts. Members were invited to recommend charities for future donations.

8. Club Business

September Meeting

Members were reminded that the September meeting will be held in the second week of the month because of the Labor Day holiday.

Meetup App

The Meetup app remains the primary location for posting chapter rides and activities. Members experiencing difficulty with the app were encouraged to seek assistance. Members who have forgotten their passwords were advised to reset them.

Tie-Dye Event

Members who received shirts from Joe and plan to attend the tie-dye event were asked to RSVP on Meetup so organizers can estimate attendance and prepare enough dye and food.

9. Chapter Display and Recognition

The chapter discussed updating the display case at the dealership. There is currently insufficient backing in the display case to properly mount wooden plaques.

The Blue Comets have presented the chapter with an award from the Gold Star Mothers, similar to an award received the previous year. The new award is expected to be framed and added to the display.

A large HOG membership/recruitment sign has been installed at the dealership.

10. Member Welfare

The chapter acknowledged the passing of Hank, a member of the Blue Comets, and expressed condolences to his family

11. Veterans Fundraiser

A veterans event scheduled for August 15 was promoted. The organization was described as using its funds to assist homeless veterans and individuals who are unable to meet basic expenses such as rent, gas, or electric bills.

Camp Freedom was also discussed. A guest, identified as Christopher Schneider, was expected to attend the event. The event was described as costing $25 and offering food, as well as opportunities to meet guests and receive autographs.

12. 50/50 Drawing

A 50/50 drawing was held near the conclusion of the meeting. The final portion of the ticket roll was used, and the winning number was announced during the meeting.

13. Adjournment

The meeting concluded with thanks to members for attending. Riders participating in the day’s ride were instructed to line up outside, and everyone was reminded to ride safely.

Action Items

• Members should RSVP on Meetup for rides and the tie-dye event.
• Members needing help with Meetup should contact the appropriate chapter representative.
• Members should submit suggestions for additional charities the chapter could support.
• Volunteers are needed for the Freedom Valley event table.
• Members should note the change to the September meeting date.
• Members should continue emphasizing safe riding practices, particularly cellphone awareness, intersection safety, group spacing, and awareness of large vehicles.
