IVHOG Chapter Meeting Notes – Feb-2026

Feb 1, 2026

Director:

  • The Macys are on vacation, so no Road Captain report today, and Bunny C is filling in for Judy as Secretary.
  • Shared updated news on Rich Leibel following his motorcycle accident in SWFL — recovering; lower leg healing on its own, but surgery was required for his pelvis. Doing PT now.
  • George W stood up and provided additional details of Rich’s accident – blind spots are always a concern for riders, and outs are essential.
  • Passed around a card to be sent to Rich.
  • Inter Clubs was canceled in January due to snow, so there are no updates yet on event planning for the riding season.
  • Additionally, there is no longer access to the Blue Comet MC event calendar. We should expect most of the usual annual events, but dates are not yet known.
  • The IVHOG Pool Tournament is scheduled for 14-Mar at Freedom Valley H-D. Registration opens at 9:30a, and the tournament will start at 10a (sharp).
  • A reminder that this Saturday (07-Feb) is the IVHOG Chilli Cookoff (also at Freedom Valley H-D). Asked for a show of hands from those intending to cook, 4 or 5 members showed interest. A staff member from the dealership will participate (who was a sous-chef, FYI). Additionally, 1 or several from the Blue Comet MC plan to participate. The event starts at 11a, those cooking should be there no later than 10:45a to set up in advance.

Assistant Director:

  • Brought up the value of Alliance of Bikers Aimed Toward Education (ABATE) – their advocacy for bikers’ rights (legal standings such as choice to wear helmets, but also one’s ability to maintain/upgrade their cars and bikes).
  • Also touched on the Motorcycle Riders Foundation (MRF).
  • No commitments necessary, but consider joining one or both … money toward their causes helps. And if you want to experience a MontCo ABATE meeting, they meet on the 3rd Sunday of each month at the Blue Comet Club House (at 11a).

Treasurer:

  • Provided the monthly report: starting balance, expenses and income, and final balance. A separate report is available.

Safety Officer:

  • An ongoing emphasis on salt and potholes, and expanded on the condition and pitfalls that likely led to Rich L’s recent accident.

Membership Officer:

  • Reported 58 active IVHOG members (annual membership renewals). Ended 2025 with 145+ active members; more renewals are expected.
  • HOWEVER, emphasized that most January renewal submissions had not yet been handled (while away on travel) and that he now has a significant backlog of forms to process.

Merchandise:

  • Plenty of “warm” gear to be had, come see me.

Webmaster:

  • Will be doing some website cleanup to remove older, stale content … hopefully in the next week or so.
  • Looking to get a fresh picture of the chapter members in the near term.

Ladies of Harley:

  • The next LOH meeting will be on 08-Mar, 12p at JT Bankers.

Meeting adjourned.
