Harley-Davidson, Sturgis Plan 75-year Agreement

“Harley-Davidson riders have attended the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally for decades. This new agreement will help fuel many more years of freedom, independence and rebellion for this iconic gathering,” said Matt Levatich, president and chief operating officer at Harley-Davidson. “Riding is a passion passed down through generations, so it’s important we celebrate the legacy and history of Harley-Davidson in Sturgis, while helping creating new memories.” Continue reading

Part 3: The Final Leg Home

Part 3 – The Final Leg Home August 22: It rained last night and on and off for most of the day. I visited Mesa Verde where I took a lot of pictures (Figures 1, 2, 3 below). It is an amazing place and very beautiful. I was headed for Zion National park, but my map was wrong, so when I saw a sign for Grand Canyon, North Side, I headed for it along Rt. 98A. In memory of Bonnie Wentz Miner

These are words I have to say, Since God came down and took you away, For three weeks you wanted to fly,... It broke my heart you had to die. You were my blue skies, you were my bright sun, You'll always be my Number 1. Now you are my bright star, I hope you didn't fly too far. When it gets dark and day is done, I hope I'm still your Number 1. When I am old and sick and when I die, I pray to God with you I'll fly. From your loving husband. Poem written by IVHOG Member Ron Miner... Continue reading

My Trike Build Project: Phase 1- Back To The Future – By Rich Lanning

So you just bought that new Harley and want to make it yours. Throwing all the chrome accessories from some catalog on it will only make it look like every other bike in the parking lot. It’s time to think outside of the catalog! I have always admired old Harley Servi-Cars and that’s the vision I had when I started my project. The old Servi-Cars had a minimum amount of chrome on them so I stripped the trike down and sent the chrome pieces to be powder coated. Continue reading

My 2012 Cross Country Trip 11,217 Miles in 30 Days

I call my motorcycles my Valium because of the way riding relaxes me and clears my mind. I started riding when I was 15 and my first bike was an old Indian that kept me broke just to keep it running. I have always loved the outdoors and they are much more enjoyable on a bike instead of in a car. You see things that you normally would not due to fewer distractions. You also meet some of the greatest people through riding and I have friends in other countries and states because of that. Continue reading

Ramblings by Doc Medich-September 2014

Riding season is going by so fast, warp speed, to say the least. Gary Bergey and the road captains have done a solid job this year planning events and many of our members are going on the rides and attending the events. Planning of the rides, execution (doing the ride), participation, and safety are important factors. With the fall season underway new obstacles that require awareness present themselves. Continue reading
