🏍️ Key Safety & Riding Topics

Hand signals:
- Inconsistency in group riding signals was noted. Printed guides were distributed—members encouraged to use standard signals.
Accident awareness:
- Ray Kaufman’s sister was seriously injured in a recent motorcycle accident (a car turned in front of her).
- Strong reminder: ride defensively and stay alert.
Road hazards & conditions:
- Watch for distracted drivers (phones/GPS), delivery vehicles, potholes, gravel, and sudden stops.
- Maintain spacing, avoid fixating on hazards, and keep eyes forward.
Group riding tips:
- Point out hazards only if safe to do so.
- Ride visibly and predictably.
Seasonal issues:
- High pollen → consider eye drops or allergy meds when riding.

A member described a road rage encounter involving a distracted driver that escalated in a Wawa parking lot.
Reinforces the need to avoid escalation and prioritize safety.

Bike Nights (Freedom Valley):
- May 28, June 25, July 23, Aug 27, Sept 24 (6–8 PM)
- Volunteers needed to promote the club and recruit members.

- Includes student essay reading (“What Memorial Day Means to Me”)
June 20 Ride:
- Planned ride to Bill’s Old Bike Barn (rain or shine)
Possible June 13:
- Pistol shoot (Red Hill Gun Club – tentative)

Harley-Davidson “Let’s Ride Challenge”:
- $1 donated per mile ridden for veterans
